AndroUrology is a term coined to combine the care of Andrology and Urology subspecialties. Andrology, or Men’s Health is a study about male sexual and reproductive conditions.

As a urological surgeon, I realise that urinary, sexual and reproductive functions are closely linked and disorders of one often affect the other to some extent. Male sexual dysfunction such as erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease (penile curvature) are common clinical conditions associated with significant psychosexual impact and many men endure these embarrassing problems without seeking and/or receiving appropriate treatment.

Men with fertility issues do not always have to resort to sperm donor and some conditions can be treated. Urinary issues such as prostate enlargement (BPH) and male urinary incontinence should not be accepted as a norm even amongst older men, and surgery should not always be reserved as the last resort.

As the founder and Director for the AndroUrology Centre, I realised that we need to balance proven established treatments and the hype of modern (novel) technology. So, I commenced my journey to ensure the best possible outcomes for each and every one of my patients. This has resulted in an active scientific research and close collaboration with the best clinical centres worldwide for ground-breaking treatments.

Significant advances in our scientific knowledge coupled with contemporary surgical techniques and innovative technology have resulted in many state-of-art treatments to restore the quality-of-life for many patients.

In keeping with a holistic and multi-modality care approach, I treat more than just the disease or condition. I believe in a multi-disciplinary integrative teamwork with other specialists (such as psychologist, sexual therapist, endocrinologist, cardiologist and others), to optimise your medical comorbidities and tailor a personalised treatment plan for each and every patient.

To evolve as a clinician surgeon, one needs to be involved in the forefront of scientific research and I have been privileged to serve on many advisory positions in prestigious international organisations and constantly collaborate with many amazing world leaders across the field of male sexual, urinary and reproductive healthcare.

Every man has a different emphasis on what is important and relevant to himself. The right treatment decision for each patient is often not easy and helping a patient with his treatment choice is very much a part of my job by providing the best clinical information based on current scientific evidence and having a full open disclosure on available treatment options and their possible side effects. I also make sure they have a clear idea of the likely outcomes that can be delivered and achieved.

Finally, I encourage every patient to be brave and take the first step towards addressing your condition(s) and improving your health. I believe that tailoring your treatment plan in a personalised manner is crucial, and I have put much time into helping patients understand how to choose the right and best treatment. Professor Eric Chung is a Urologic Surgeon, Clinician and Men’s Health advocate with a special interest in the field of male sexual, urinary and reproduction.

He holds numerous distinguished positions both nationally and internationally. His clinical practice is dedicated to the management and treatment of male sexual, urinary and reproduction, focusing on multi-disciplinary approach with personalised care. He has one of the largest surgical experience in penile prosthesis implant, urinary prosthetic reconstruction (male sling and artificial urinary sphincter) and Peyronie’s disease in Australasia, with extensive scientific publications in these areas.
